This is the second edition of this successful book and it addresses how technologies evolve and how they drive the need for organizational change and adaptation. The book represents a collection of readings and essays about the management of strategic innovation and change. It both suffers from (lack of continuity and cohesion), and benefits from (variety of viewpoints and styles), this structure. However, the editors have done a very good job in providing linking material and commentary so that this does constitute a 'whole' much more than many other books of separate materials.
Focusing on the general-management challenges that innovative firms face, the editors draw from a variety of disciplines and demonstrate the links between innovation, organizational competencies, organizational architectures, executive teams, and managing change.
